Enthusiastic Leaders Enjoy Premium Wines

Be the enthusiastic leader in your life! Enthusiasm must be nourished with new action, new inspirations, new efforts, new vision. Effective leaders are enthusiastic leaders.

Remember it is the power of enthusiasm that leads others to act- so make it contagious. Our latest joys in Va La’s Enoteca (also known as a wine tasting room) illustrated the resounding response to our celebratorious enthusiasm.

My sister flew from California to Pennsylvania with only 36 hours to share and participate in a special event in honor of my son. We were full of life and joy in sharing this time together, brief as it was.

I insisted we visit some wineries on our way back to the airport. During our tasting we concentrated on the wines and intermittently recalled the previous day’s experience. We shared our stories with our server. She was engaged and our energy was quickly transferred.

We then mentioned our next stop was the airport. Surprise, surprise our now high energy yet empathetic server insisted on honoring my sister with a glass of wine from their premium wine list. We smiled, were truly grateful and suggested a premium chocolate would be the perfect pairing for a perfect farewell. The rest goes without saying.

Leadership includes sincere enthusiasm for a meaningful experience and a shared vision. There is truly no desire for resistance only assistance. Part of my job as a leadership coach is to help energize and motivate leaders to focus on those activities that invoke such enthusiasm.

5 Tips To Create a Winning 2010 Business Strategy

1. Think! Prospering in today’s economy will require an extraordinary examination of your personal commitment to “the truth” as it relates to your industry in general and your own business or job in particular. In dealing with clients from many different backgrounds, I have noticed that, quite often, we do not make decisions according to what is true. Rather, we make decisions according to what we want to be true. Or what we wish were true. This is usually a recipe for disaster.

2. Freshen Up. "People think creativity is the best version of the current thing," Deutsch writes in his 2005 book, Often Wrong, Never in Doubt: Unleash the Business Rebel Within. "I disagree. I’d rather do something fresh and put my client on the line than knowingly do derivative work. I want something with a different flavor to it, the 32nd flavor of Baskin-Robbins, the 58th variety of Heinz. I tell our people, go where tomorrow is. Let everybody else catch up."

3. Network! If you’re truly serious about building your business, networking is a must. The fact that you’re well known in your town simply isn’t enough. In our global business world, having a network that extends beyond the city limits is essential. With phone, email and the Internet, it’s just as easy to build a global network as a local one.

4. Customer Service. Leaders who are serious about creating a culture of exceptional service start by getting everyone on the same page, believing first that service is important. Make sure everyone in your business knows customer service is part of their job, even if they aren’t interacting directly with your external customers. Walk the talk. You have to say it’s important, but also act like it. As a business leader, how do you treat others? Leaders have to be great role models.

5. Discover & Develop Your Personal Best. How can you experience the joys of success if you aren't able to find a way to break through your own limitations.

  • You need to get clear about what you really want and harness the fuel of human emotion. Force yourself to consistently take action to make your dreams a reality.

  • Decide what you will no longer stand for and what you're committed to. Clarity is power.

  • Take massive action. You have to be willing to do the things you don't want to do. You have to build a momentum that consistent action produces.

  • Notice what's working and what's not working. And when it's not working, change your approach. Keep changing until you finally find the approach you should be committed to.

"Secret of Your Success"

"What is the secret of your success?" a reporter asked a bank president.
"Two words"
"And, what are they?"
"Right decisions."
"And how do you make right decisions?"
"One word."
"And, What is that?"
"Experience."
"And how do you get Experience?"
"Two words"
"And, what are they?"
"Wrong decisions"

“Decisions are the endless uncertainties of life that we'll not know if they’re right until the very end, so do the best you can and hope it's right.

If it’s not, chalk it up to experience and you’re one step closer to success.” J.Tuschinski

Before You Hire a Speaker, Motivational Keynote Speakers, Trainer, Presenter or Seminar Leader - Establish Your Objectives

Remember the old nursery rhyme?

I had six honest serving men
They taught me all I knew!
Their names were What and Where and When,
How and Why and Who!

Getting your speakers should be the easiest part of planning your program. IF before you begin your search, you ask a few questions. . .

WHY?
First, before you start the search, ask yourself, your committee, management and possibly your prospective attendees . . . Why are we holding this meeting?. . . Why use an outside speaker?. . . Why a celebrity, a professional speaker, a sports star?

Are you the one responsible for kicking off the new management or sales program? Then beware! It can be thrilling to sit down to dinner with a hero, famous fiction author, astronaut or ice skater. Really wonderful to sit in the same room and listen to them talk. This kind of speaker can increase attendance and add to the glamour of the meeting. They are great for award events.

BUT, don't let anyone forget as you establish your objectives that these "stars" didn't achieve their stardom by their incredible comprehension of management theory or by speaking at banquets!
